This week (Weds 5th Dec): “A vintage performance from Scotland’s Cults Percussion Ensemble, featuring a very young Evelyn Glennie, the nimble finger work of flamenco guitarist Niño Josele, medieval part singing from Anonymous 4 and dark moorland ambience from Elsie Martins working under the name Atom Eye.”

Sewing Music

martin messier

Great project by the fellow Canadian artist Martin Messier. An unusual orchestra in which all the sounds are made by sewing machines made in the 1940s, amplified and processed by computers. A complex network of strange rhythmic patterns which create all sorts of mental associations among the audience, thanks to the evocative power of these small industrial marvels.
